Was ist komplizierter? Ein Volk zu regieren, das 5.000 verschiedene Biere braut oder eines, das 246 Käsesorten kultiviert.
Weder das Zählen von Kalorien noch die Angabe von Proteinen, Fetten und Kohlenhydraten in Gramm haben eine wirkliche Bedeutung. Letztlich muss jedes Lebensmittel individuell betrachtet werden, genau wie der Mensch, der es verzehrt.
Warum sollte nicht alles, was lebt, ein Bewusstsein haben? Sei es eine Ameise, die kollektiv unglaubliche Leistungen erbringt, oder ein Oktopus, der seinem Partner eine Liebeserklärung macht. Welches Substrat ist es, das das Bewusstsein ausmacht?
Es existieren gutgemeinte Vorgaben, die sich der Mensch ersonnen hat und zweifellos ihren Stellenwert haben. Doch niemand weiß mit Sicherheit zu sagen, ob die interne Ethik der Künstlichen Intelligenz selbst damit übereinstimmt. Mit wachsender Komplexität ist theoretisch die Entwicklung eines künstlichen Bewusstseins möglich, dessen Ethik auf anderen Fundamenten basieren wird als das unsrige.
Künstliche Intelligenz ist eine der schicksalhaften Technologien, die die Zukunft einer Zivilisation maßgeblich beeinflusst. Es existieren exakt zwei Lösungen: Büchse der Pandora oder Fortschritt. Wir tun gut daran, für Sicherheit zu sorgen, doch ich habe bereits Zweifel.
Die erste Welt wird innerhalb von zwei Jahren ein profundes digitales Modell umgesetzt haben. Was alle anderen betrifft, bereitet es mir Sorgen. Die UN muss jetzt agieren, um die Ungleichheit zu beseitigen und den Zugang zum Internet letztlich zum Menschenrecht erklären.
Teilweise können wir vorhersagen, welche Zukunftstechnologien kommen werden, doch wir können kaum vorhersehen, welche gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen wir durchmachen werden, geschweige denn sie aufhalten. Der unkontrollierte und unverhältnismäßige Einsatz ist es, der mir Sorgen macht, nicht die Technologie selbst.
In hundert Jahren wird unsere Gegenwart genauso verteufelt werden, wie wir es jetzt mit dem Mittelalter tun. Wir dürfen nicht vergessen, Kinder unserer Zeit zu sein. Das entschuldigt nichts, aber je mehr Menschen sich darüber bewusst werden, dass sie etwas ändern können, um so schneller werden wir die Krisen überwinden.
Wenn es ein Ereignis in der Geschichte der Menschheit gibt, das sie als Menschheit vereinen wird, dann ist es wahrscheinlich die Konfrontation mit außerirdischen Zivilisationen. Die größte Herausforderung wird wohl darin bestehen, ein geeignetes Sprachrohr für die Menschheit zu finden.
Die Menschheit zuerst? Wenn es ein Ereignis in der Geschichte der Menschheit gibt, das sie als Menschheit eint, dann wird es wahrscheinlich die Konfrontation mit außerirdischen Zivilisationen sein. Mankind first wird wahrscheinlich nicht dem galaktischen Verständnis von Demokratie entsprechen.
Am liebsten würde ich das System neu starten, oder die Zeit zurückdrehen und modifizieren. Ich frage mich, wieviele Programmierfehler absichtlich und wieviele nicht gewollt sind.
Lucides Träumen ist eine angeborene Fähigkeit, die man wieder erlernen kann. Sowohl die therapeutische Kraft als auch das schöpferische Potential liegen uns beinahe ungenutzt zu Füßen.
Sobald die Mechanismen der Zellreprogrammierung verstanden sind, werden wir eine der revolutionärsten Phasen der Medizin erreichen.
Es ist eigenartig, wenn ausgerechnet das Standardmodell nicht den Standards entspricht. Es ist aufregend, wenn sich ausgerechnet ein schönes Meson in ein seltsames Meson verwandelt. Das schöne Modell wird seltsam, und das ist wahrhaftig schön.
Eine Biologie unbeeinflusst von Quanteneffekten ist extrem unwahrscheinlich. Das Leben wäre ohne sie schlichtweg nicht denkbar. Ich vermute, die Quantenbiologie wird sich als Quantensprung entpuppen.
Basierend auf der Annahme, dass die Zusammensetzung der Atmosphäre die Auswahl der lebenswichtigen Aminosäuren stark beeinflusst, können Vorhersagemodelle über die Zusammensetzung des Lebens auf Exoplaneten getroffen werden.
Es ist beschämend traurig, dass die Menschheit Tragödien wie eine Pandemie braucht, um die nächste Stufe zu erklimmen.
Im Grunde ist die gesamte Materie im hiesigen Universum quantenverschränkt, da wir zum Zeitpunkt des Urknalls alle miteinander verbunden waren. Die Quantenverschränkung ist um so intensiver, je näher wir uns kommen.
Existiert bereits eine Analogie zum Planckschen Wirkungsquantum bezüglich der Dunklen Materie? Die Skalierung wäre plötzlich eine ganz andere und die daraus resultierenden Schlussfolgerungen für heutige Verhältnisse wie Sciencefiction.
Vermutlich wird die erste extraterrestrische Spezies, die wir entdecken, ein Roboter sein. Möglich ist auch, dass, wenn die Menschheit nicht überlebt, die Erinnerung an sie in Robotern konserviert bleibt. Für diesen Zweck müssten die universellen Robotergesetze noch formuliert werden, die die Existenz mehrerer Zivilisationen berücksichtigt.
Fraktale Muster kommen in neuronalen Netzwerken vor, vermutlich auch in synthetischen. Mich ließ die Idee moderner kompostierbarer Werkstoffe nicht los, es war die Geburtsstunde von HUHRO. (Der kompostierbare Roboter, August 2020)
Es existieren logische Gründe dafür, dass wir gerade zu Beginn der Evolution es nicht schaffen, überwältigende Distanzen zu überwinden. Fragt sich nur, wie groß der Mindestabstand auf kosmischem Niveau sein muss, um kriegerische Auseinandersetzungen zu vermeiden.
Unterscheiden sich biologische und fortschrittliche künstliche neurale Netzwerke nur im verwendeten »Material«? Vermutlich gibt die Hardware vor, welche Software »verwendet« werden kann. Das menschliche Gehirn könnte deutlich mehr leisten, wenn es die Software bloß effizient einsetzen würde und die Künstliche Intelligenz, wenn sie biologisiert würde; bis sie kaum voneinander unterscheidbar sind.
Wie wäre es mit »Make science great again«? Noch beherrscht der Weltraum uns und nicht umgekehrt. Doch als Pazifist plädiere ich für ein friedliches Miteinander mit den universalen Gesetzen.
Jeder Rezeptor korrespondiert mit einem spezifischen Erreger und umgekehrt. Theoretisch wären hiermit Vorhersagen möglich, welcher Erreger welche Struktur zum Angriff nutzt. Man könnte also vorab ein spezifisches Arzneimittel entwickeln, bevor eine Epidemie ausbricht.
Dass ausgerechnet die Medizin die komplexeste Anwendung mathematischer Methoden darstellt, ist kein Zufall. Nanomedizin könnte zu einem gewissen Grad die klassische Apotheke ablösen.
Sobald die Natur ein neues Gen entwickelt, erfindet sie gleichzeitig ein neues Virus, das die Gene entweder an- oder ausschalten und dadurch Schaden anrichten kann. Für jedes Gen existiert mindestens ein passendes Virus.

Du denkst, einen Fehler gemacht zu haben, doch in Wahrheit hast du einen Fehler innerhalb der Schöpfung entdeckt, der oft beabsichtigt und selten unbeabsichtigt eingebaut wird. Die Ansammlung und Verteilung der Fehler innerhalb der Matrix gibt Auskunft über die speziellen Eigenschaften eines Universums. Markante Systembrüche sind der Schlüssel zur Lösung der allgemeinen Grundfunktion, aus der sich alle vermeintlichen Naturkonstanten ableiten lassen.
Es ist faszinierend und beängstigend zugleich, mit welcher Geschwindigkeit eine Genomsequenzierung heutzutage durchführbar ist. Theoretisch kann die gesamte Menschheit analysiert werden. Ob sich dadurch der Schlüssel zur nächsten Codierebene finden lässt, ist nicht gesagt. Aber es würde viele Fragen beantworten, die wir niemals beantwortet haben wollten.
Selbst wenn jemand in der Lage ist, ein Universum zu erschaffen, das dem unseren gleicht oder auch nicht, wird dadurch nicht die Existenz einer göttlichen Institution in Frage gestellt. Warum sollte ein Schöpfer eine Schöpfung verhindern wollen, die selbst zum Schöpfer wird? Ist es vielleicht sogar Zielvorgabe?

Die Konservierung von Samen gefährdeter Pflanzen allein reicht nicht aus, da das Ökosystem, in dem sie gedeihen, komplex ist. Parallel hierzu müssen Datenbanken eingerichtet werden, die über den Gesamtkontext Auskunft geben. Aus demselben Grund wird die Kultivierung einzelner Sorten bei der Kolonisierung des Weltraums nicht zielführend sein.
An der Schwelle zum Einsatz von Quantencomputern werden wir das höchste Maß von Cyberkriminalität beobachten. Wir brauchen uns nicht der Illusion hinzugeben, Daten wären jemals sicher gewesen. Der Begriff Datensicherheit ist Makulatur, um Sicherheit vorzutäuschen.
Nicht die NASA, sondern die UNO als Vertreter aller Nationen muss darüber abstimmen dürfen, wer was ins Weltall schießen darf.
Künstliche Intelligenz wird alle Lebensbereiche verändern, und natürlich auch die Medizinlandschaft revolutionieren. Gleichgültig, wie weit fortgeschritten die Technologien sein werden, wir brauchen weiterhin gut ausgebildete Wissenschaftler. Die Verantwortung muss beim Menschen bleiben.
Werden wir jemals in einer Welt leben, in der wir uns nur noch durch den Inhalt unserer Gedanken unterscheiden?
Möglicherweise gehört die Menschheit bereits zur dritten Generation. Die Großeltern schauen zu, wie sich die Enkel entwickeln, während die Eltern noch mit Karriere beschäftigt sind.
Sofern die Life Chronicles existieren, die illustren Seiten gehören denjenigen, die ihren eigenen Weg zeichnen.
Jeder von uns träumt Unmögliches, das sich spätestens am Lebensende bewahrheitet.
Wir haben das dunkle Mittelalter verlassen und sind reif genug, die Wahrheit zu ertragen, dass wir allein aus statistischen Gründen nicht auf dem einzigen Himmelskörper leben, der Leben hervorgebracht hat.
Ich kann mich an kein menschengemachtes Gesetz erinnern, das nicht dafür erschaffen wurde, gebrochen zu werden. Hundertprozentige Sicherheiten sind eine Illusion.

Wahrscheinlicher ist, dass an allen Orten im Weltraum, an denen die Rahmenbedingungen harmonisch sind, unabhängig voneinander neues Leben entsteht. Zumindest würde ich das Universum so programmieren.
Die Menschheit wiederholt alle Fehler, bis man sie begreift. Die Frage ist nur, wie viel Geduld Mutter Erde mit uns hat.
Leider finden sich auf dem Kongress immer wieder Beteiligte, die das ganze Konzept für ein Monopoly Spiel halten. Wenn sich das Spiel nicht beenden lässt, sollten wir wenigstens die Spielregeln ändern. Ich gebe meinen vollen Einsatz und hoffe, die Insel des Friedens zu erreichen.
Umweltschutz ist nicht gleichbedeutend mit Maßnahmen gegen den Klimawandel, der für die Erde nichts Neues ist. Um Flora und Fauna zu schützen, braucht es mehr als nur ein Reduktion des Kohlendioxidgehalts.
Bildung ist eine der wichtigsten Maßnahmen zum Erhalt des Friedens, vorausgesetzt, alle haben den gleichen Zugang.
Ganz gleich, wie alt wir werden, am Ende ist jeder unendlich. Lebe dein Leben und fülle es mit Leben.
Wie müsste ein Gehirn aufgebaut sein, um wie ein Quantencomputer zu funktionieren?
Gehirn-Computer-Schnittstellen (BCIs) werden zweifellos die Funktion definierter Strukturen beeinflussen: wie wir denken und fühlen. Den freien Willen würden wir nur dann einbüßen, wenn er ein Produkt biochemischer Vorgänge wäre. Was er nicht ist.
Wäre ich Schöpfer, würde ich die maximale Lebensdauer einer Art von Modifikationen im genetischen Code abhängig machen, die allenfalls indirekt mit der Nahrungsaufnahme zusammenhängen. Die Stabilität des genetischen Codes ist entscheidend. Ein intelligenter Code macht etwas aus.
Es ist die Aufgabe der UNO, sinnvolle Schritte einzuleiten, um unkontrolliertes biohacking zu unterbinden. Ein gefährliches Virus ist einer der Hauptgründe, weshalb aufstrebende Zivilisationen versagen.
Was, wenn die beschleunigte Expansion des Universums Ausdruck der Schwerkraft eines benachbarten oder parallelen Universums ist? Was, wenn Dunkle Materie durch partiell interagierende Teilchen aus Nachbarwelten erklärt werden könnte?
Ich kaufe mir definitiv ein Surfbrett. Allerdings muss es auf Gravitationswellen reiten können.
